.The United Nations - Human Rights Council (UNHRC) is an inter-governmental body responsible for strengthening the promotion and protection of human rights around the world. Its main activities include addressing human rights violations and making recommendations, responding to human rights emergencies and undertaking fact-finding missions, serving as a forum for dialogue on thematic human rights issues, and conducting the Universal Periodic Review of all UN member states' human rights records. Composed of 47 member states elected by the UN General Assembly, the UNHRC meets regularly in Geneva to address pressing human rights concerns. It can recommend that the Security Council take action when human rights violations occur, making it a key player in global human rights advocacy and enforcement.
